Fordham Celebrates 10th Anniversary of the Fordham-University of Pretoria Partnership

Her Excellency, Ambassador Fikile Magubane of South Africa, visited Fordham on March 2-6, 2020 to mark the 10th anniversary of the Fordham-University of Pretoria Partnership,

A luncheon was held on March 5, Friday, to welcome the Ambassador on campus and commemorate the programs that had been successfully launched since the partnership began in 2009. Fordham Administrators and students joined the luncheon to celebrate with the Ambassador.

Fordham Programs part of this partnership include the:

Emerging Markets in South Africa Program

  • Began in 2009, students from Fordham University travel to South Africa learn about tools for emerging markets analysis alongside meeting government, non government and leading private sector firms for their study

Emerging Markets Study Program

  • Began in 2011, students from the University of Pretoria and rising officers of SA Reserve and key finance institutions in SA participate in the Emerging Markets Certificate Summer Program at Fordham

Ubuntu Study Abroad Program

  • Began in 2012, undergraduate students from Fordham University spend a semester at University of Pretoria for their study abroad experience

South Africa Scholarship Program

  • Began in 2012, select scholars from South Africa attend programs with the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences and the Gabelli Business School
