Thank you to all the 2020 – 2021 Event Speakers!

By Kevin Strohm

From everyone at the IPED program, we want to extend our sincerest gratitude to those that offered their time and experience as part of one of our many virtual events over the past academic year! Although this year was one of the most challenging, especially regarding event planning and networking, we were able to host weekly lectures with alumni, and other subject experts throughout the world. The same was true for our Virtual Career Sessions, held roughly every other week throughout the year. While we did not get to travel around New York City or go to Washington DC, we were able to hear from so many amazing organizations located in those two cities and beyond! We were even able to hold an Alumni Networking Night.

While the pandemic forced most of us to complete these events in our own residences, behind a screen, it also allowed us to connect with alumni from across the globe, opening a new avenue for students to learn about careers and organizations they might not have otherwise known. As a program that focuses on International work, this was extremely exciting. Students now have a deeper understanding of the fields of finance, economics and international development, from those that work in the NGO, public, and private sectors across the globe.

We can’t wait to see what next year brings! Have a great summer everyone!
