Lecture Spotlight: UNICEF’s Joint Programme with the WHO for Water Supply and Sanitation

By Kevin Strohm

On April 7th, Tom Slaymaker, senior statistics and monitoring specialist, presented to IPED students on UNICEF’s Joint Programme with the WHO for Water Supply and Sanitation.

The lecture focussed on the statistics and data being compiled and analyzed in relation to completion of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He specifically focussed on access to water, sanitation, and hygiene services and infrastructure, and trends that exist over time and across countries and regions. This information is especially useful to IPED students and Fordham at large, as the Fordham Francis Index (FFI) Report uses the UNICEF-WHO water data in its construction.
