IPED Fulbright Scholar Excels with International Accounting Firm, KPMG

By Lusine Khachatryan

This summer I had the opportunity to intern with KPMG LLP where I discovered the people, experiences, tools, and support that can help me achieve my goals and aspirations in the long-term. KPMG provides advisory, audit, and tax services for organizations in today’s most critical industries. KPMG is a good place to build a career for those who enjoy continuous learning and growth. Its corporate culture encourages individual development, embraces an inclusive environment, rewards innovative excellence, and supports communities. I was excited to find an environment built on a foundation of ethics, integrity, and professionalism– one that respects and encourages me to share my ideas, provides me with a chance to be heard, and urges me to make a difference. At KPMG, I had the opportunity to take on new responsibilities and pursue experiences that were both personally and professionally rewarding.

My internship focused on Risk Advisory practice and was based in the Securitization department. Throughout the internship, I learned about types of services the department offers and was exposed to the resources and expertise that are used to better serve the clients. Although the internship was fully online given the global circumstances, I was able to enhance my technical, leadership, and professional skills, as well as share my own knowledge with colleagues. Mentoring sessions with experienced professionals and leaders, online trainings, and seminars allowed me to demonstrate my competence, acquire new knowledge, and create a professional network. I found that an internship with KPMG is a good jump start for your career if you plan on considering employment with such an organization.
