Mr. John Alikpala (Philippines) and Mr. Papa Diop (Senegal) were the recipients of IPED’s 1999 International Peace and Development (IPD) Travel Scholarships.

They were assigned to the Southern African Regional Office of Catholic Relief Services (CRS) in Harare, Zimbabwe during the Spring 1999 semester to study the problem of debt relief facing the countries of southern Africa.
