Jeremy Wierenga Highlights His Internship Experience with Blooom India

By Jeremy Wierenga

I took some time to go on a mountain biking tour of the wetlands right outside of Calcutta. These wetlands are an incredible and sustainable system of waste management.

My summer internship consisted of traveling to India to learn more about the agtech company, Blooom.
Blooom is an international company that provides a marketplace for producers and consumers of agricultural goods. The marketplace is accessible via smartphone and it provides small-holder farmers access to further down the supply chain, encouraging greater profits to a population that predominantly faces extreme poverty. During my time in India, I conducted research and presented a plan to the executives on potential company expansion into new markets.
