On November 21st and 22nd, 2024, the Fordham IPED class of 2026 had the opportunity to travel to Washington, DC, to talk with IPED alumni about their careers in Washington. They had the chance to meet with alumni working in different government agencies such as Millennium Challenge Corporation, International Trade Administration, USAID, and Foreign Agriculture Service. They met with a representative from the Center for Strategic & International Studies, a foreign policy think tank in Washington. They ended their day with a visit to the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History.
The alumni gave the visiting students a glimpse of what it is like working in government and with organizations associated with the government and an overview of their work. Students learned where and how to apply for a job with the United States government. Also, they provided students with feedback on how to save money while living in Washington, DC.
