In The Rich Flee and the Poor Take the Bus, Dr. Tassier discusses the intersection between public health and poverty and inequality. With various backdrops from Ancient Greece and all the way up to the COVID-19 pandemic, he provides examples of how our collective approach to epidemic and health crisis response disproportionately affects marginalized populations.
Dr. Tassier is an economist, researcher, and professor at Fordham University. His research revolves around economic epidemiology and complex systems and has contributed to public discourse on health, policy, and perception. His work has been quoted and published across a variety of media platforms including Scientific American, WFUV, ABC News, Reuters, and the Associated Press.
