On Friday, the IPED Class of 2026 had the opportunity to tour the Bronx with Gregory Jost. Gregory is a community advocate and organizer who showed us around the Bronx neighborhood around Fordham and talked about the history, diversity, and efforts to build communities in the Bronx.
We had the opportunity to visit the Concourse House (2751 Grand Concourse) and talk to representatives from UNHP (University Neighborhood Housing Program) and Fordham Bedford Housing Corporation about the current housing situation of housing in the Bronx. Cathy Clarke of UNHP, Jim Buckley of UNHP, and Heng Ly of Fordham Bedford Housing Corporation educated us on the history of their organization and what needs to be done to improve the housing situation in the Bronx.
After we finished our tour, we had the opportunity to eat and taste Vietnamese food in the Bronx.
